Multi-tenant SaaS platform providing unified observability, CI/CD pipelines, and self-service infrastructure provisioning for engineering teams. Built as an end-to-end monorepo spanning Next.js 16 frontend, NestJS API gateway, Express microservices, Bun runtime, PostgreSQL relational stores, MongoDB event stream, Socket.io real-time telemetry, Three.js interactive topology dashboards, Vercel edge functions, AWS S3/Lambda/DynamoDB, Sanity documentation CMS, Netlify static delivery, Framer Motion UI polish, Appwrite BaaS auth, and Excel reporting — all orchestrated through a single pnpm workspace and deployed as a monoplet on Vercel with zero-downtime migrations.

Highlights

  • 1Single pnpm workspace running 40+ packages — Next.js 16 dashboard, NestJS API gateway, and 12 Express microservices.
  • 2Zero-downtime Postgres schema migrations orchestrated through Prisma with automatic rollback on failure.
  • 3Real-time observability streaming 2M+ events/day over Socket.io into a MongoDB event store.
  • 4Interactive Three.js service-topology renderer driven by live health checks across 400+ nodes.
  • 5Self-service provisioning pipeline: request → approval → Terraform apply → Vercel deploy, in under 4 minutes.

Key Challenges

  • 1Unifying three datastores (Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB) behind a single typed Prisma + Mongoose access layer.
  • 2Keeping a 40+ package monorepo build under 60s by splitting Turbopack boundaries per app.
  • 3Designing a permission model that survived multi-tenant isolation without leaking data across orgs.
  • 4Rendering a 400-node topology at 60fps in the browser without dropping frames on low-end machines.

Key Learnings

  • 1Bun cuts cold-start time roughly 4x versus Node for the same container footprint — worth the migration for short-lived jobs.
  • 2Moving event fan-out to a dedicated Socket.io gateway with Redis-style pub/sub took horizontal scaling from 2 to 14 replicas.
  • 3Sanity as a headless CMS for runbooks beat a bespoke docs service — the editorial workflow paid for itself immediately.
  • 4Zero-downtime migrations are a product feature, not an infra detail; customers noticed the difference on day one.
